It took hours, but I finally got Nightmare at Camp Forrestwood proofread and edited! I had 48 edits! I did not expect to have that many. I got the first 25 free, but then got charged for every block of 25 - I had two more I should have used, but my eyes were so tired and burning, I didn't look through it again to use my last 2. I am a little worried about this one because a few reviews of Sudden Moves claimed that my dialogue was forced. I don't consider my dialogue forced. Forced is someone talking when there is no motivation for them to say what they say, like a book I am reading now. My characters react naturally, just because something comes out of their mouths that the reader doesn't expect, doesn't make it "forced." One critic said Sudden Moves was too dramatic and had too many twists for her to keep up. I take that as a compliment. Drama and twists are what keeps a novel going and hard to put down. I hope I have done a good job with Nightmare and hope everyone enjoys it! I am now waiting for Outskirts Press to correct my edits and then we are on our way to my second publication!!!

I am about three chapters into Summer Shack - A Hot Thriller!! Dunno if that's going to be the title, but it sounds good, doesn't it?? Okay, I mean hot in temperature, not like erotic fiction. On second thought, I might wanna scrap that subtitle!! Two friends, Kim and Deborah, go on a summer vacation after high school grad, and embark on a project to film a documentary in Door County, Wisconsin. During their quest for information on the town, they come across news of a serial killer who just got convicted. They decide to change their film plans and focus on this guy's story and the grisly discovery in this house. I have plans for the story, but there is alot more I need to discover as I write! Comments suggested! What do you think could be added for more suspense??
I got some great news already for 2011! Not only is Sudden Moves published, it also received a 5 star rating on Amazon's Kindle store!! I am so happy! I did not realize this was going to happen! I love how the review went into detail and what the writer liked about it. She writes for a newspaper/website in Oregon and I hope to have more people submit reviews! Here's to a good year!
I just reviewed my final proof and the book is going to print! I hope this edition is cleaned up from the mistakes. I also have signed up to have this book reviewed by 10 different reviewers - a marketing package I purchased. I am still waiting on the book trailer from Trafford. Outskirts is supposed to do one also, in this marketing package. I am comparing both publishing companies, spending more than I initially wanted. I am going to pick the best one for my 2nd novel and only have one edition! I have to wait until next year to pay off my bills and hope to get Nightmare at Camp Forrestwood on it's way to the bookshelves! Watch for it!
Almost finished my rough draft for my 2nd novel! I have major cutting/polishing to get started on after this final chapter! Whodunits are challenging! I have to count for my killer to be placed at the same locations as my victims! I had fun writing it!! Hope to send this one off after the new year! I have yet to receive my big shipment of Sudden Moves from Trafford. Outskirts Press is moving along quickly for the 2nd publication! I may use them for my 2nd novel if all goes well!
The first week of November, the book will be available on www.trafford.com and other retailers will have it by the end of 2010. The price is the same on both sites. I have been off work this week and have been making great progress on my new book. There is no title yet, but hope to get this one out next year. Very excited and hope everyone enjoys the book!
The book is done! I hope to have my shipment in a week or two. I get my first complimentary copy in a week and it's supposed to be available on the Trafford website. It will be for sale through retailers in 8-10 weeks. This will be a surprise to my family since I haven't told them about it. I want to surpise my mom and dad. The book can be purchased through the Trafford site or any retailer (Barnes and Noble, Amazon, etc). I am so excited! Trafford is excellent since it only took a month for this book to be published. Outskirts Press was supposed to publish this also, but they have been sitting on it for two weeks! One of the top self publishers - nice, huh? I will continue to go through Trafford with this track record of both publishers, my only change will be to sign up for the editing service up front. I failed to do that this time and my book has some errors. I hope it's still enjoyed! It's a very moving thriller!
My novel has moved into the design stage. This means I am waiting to approve the title and the back cover as well as the design. I hope this comes out good. I don't wanna delay my book any more than 3 months.
